AC Coil Cleaning in Lake Worth, FL
A coil caked with dirt, grease or salt makes your AC work harder and cool less. We clean both indoor and outdoor coils.
Why the coils decide how well your AC cools
Your air conditioner moves heat with two coils. The evaporator coil indoors absorbs heat and humidity from the house, and the condenser coil outdoors releases that heat to the outside air. When either one is coated in dirt, pollen, cottonwood or salt film, heat transfer drops, the compressor runs hotter and the system runs longer to reach the same temperature.
We clean both, and we also work on rooftop package units, like the one in the photo above, where a technician is washing a condenser coil on a flat roof. Condenser coils near the Intracoastal and in roof-mounted installations take extra abuse from wind-driven salt and debris, so they can need cleaning more often than ground-level units.

Signs the coils need cleaning
- The AC runs for long stretches but the house stays warm
- The outdoor coil looks matted with dirt, leaves or grime
- Ice forms on the indoor coil or refrigerant lines
- Your electric bills rise without a change in use
- The compressor shuts off on its own due to high temperature
- The system has not been cleaned in years
- You live close to the water and see white salt film on the unit
How we clean AC coils
Power down and inspect
We shut the system off safely, remove panels and check coil condition and fin damage.
Apply coil cleaner
We apply a coil-safe cleaner suited to the coil type to loosen grime without harming the fins.
Rinse and flush
We rinse from the inside out where possible and make sure the drain pan and line are clear.
Restore and test
We reassemble the unit, restore power and check temperature split and airflow.
What affects coil cleaning cost
Coil cleaning is quoted by the system and how hard the coil is to reach.
Which coil
Indoor evaporator coils often need more disassembly than a condenser coil that can be rinsed from outside.
Level of buildup
A lightly dirty coil is quick work, while a heavily clogged one takes multiple passes.
Unit type and location
Rooftop package units and attic air handlers are harder to access than ground-level equipment.
Bundled services
Combining coil cleaning with a tune-up or duct cleaning can use the same visit.
Why AC Rangel Services for coil cleaning
Cleaning is one of the services printed on our crew shirts, and coil cleaning is a core part of keeping a Florida system working. We work under Florida license CAC1825056 and we service rooftop units as well as attic and closet air handlers.
Because we are also an AC repair contractor, we can tell you if a coil is damaged beyond cleaning or leaking, rather than washing something that needs replacement.
Coil cleaning in your city
We clean coils on homes and small commercial rooftop units in Lake Worth and across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
Coil Cleaning questions answered
Is coil cleaning the same as an AC tune-up?
No. A tune-up is a broader inspection. Coil cleaning is a focused service that removes buildup from the coil fins. We can do both in one visit.
Can I clean the condenser coil with a hose myself?
You can lightly rinse the outside fins, but aggressive spraying can bend the fins or push dirt deeper. A technician cleans from the right direction and checks for damage.
How do I know which coil is dirty?
A matted outdoor coil is visible. The indoor coil is hidden, and ice, poor cooling and musty smells can point to it. We inspect both.
Do you clean rooftop units?
Yes. We service package units on flat roofs, which are common on small commercial buildings and some multi-family properties.
Will cleaning fix a system that does not cool?
Only if dirt is the cause. If the system is low on refrigerant or has a failed part, we will tell you after testing.
